TEHRAN, Aug. 02 (MNA) – Sara Tabibzadeh’s short animation ‘From Eastern Lands’ is to compete at the 18th international Festival of Animated Film of Paris.

Sara Tabibzadeh’s From Eastern Lands is a five-minute long animation which visualizes a track by the Iranian band Palette and based on a poem by the prominent Persian poet Saadi.

"From Eastern Lands was produced last year but has not been screened in any Iranian festivals yet; its screening at Paris animated film festival will be the animation’s third international appearance,” said Tabibzadeh.

From Eastern Lands has already participated in two festivals in Italy and managed to sweep Best Film award in one and Special Jury and Audience Award in the other.

The poem by Saadi which is featured in the animation has been translated into Spanish, Italian, French and English, said the Iranian artist.

The 18th edition of the Festival of Animated Film of Paris will take place on 9-13 September in France.
